Anonymous Posts That Tell Hard stories and a Call-out for Ally-ship Writing

The response to the Contact Improv Consent Culture anonymous posts has been strong. These posts tell stories that the authors felt were potentially personally damaging to share under their names. They have given the Contact Improvisation community the gift of looking at itself in ways we otherwise might not have heard.

Thank you to these five women who have done the labour of telling their stories.

I would like to suggest that perhaps it is now time for some allyship labour.

I am inviting submissions from those who are afforded power and privilege by our society—including male privilege—to write about their own thoughts, experiences, questions, and learning around Contact Improvisation and consent culture.

This is an opportunity to take on some of the labour of reflection, rather than asking those who experience the greatest risks and pain to continue doing that work.

The Contact Improv Consent Culture takes submissions or submission ideas through kathleenrea@outlook.com
